Serving Utica, NY

The BMW X3, X5, and X7 are close cousins in the 2020 lineup, so they understandably have several thoughtful similarities. However, they are boldly different in everything from price and size to performance abilities and features. Our sales team at BMW of Utica is available to provide supportive and knowledgeable assistance to you as you get more familiar with these models’ differences.

The 2020 X3 is a compact luxury crossover SUV, and it is offered in several trim levels that reflect notable differences in features and abilities. At the X3’s base level, it draws 248 horsepower from a 2.0-liter, I-4 TwinPower Turbo powertrain. The X5 is a midsize crossover SUV, and the X7 is a full-size model with three rows of seats. Like the X3 crossover, the X5 and the X7 are offered in several trims with varying capabilities. They share a base-level engine, and this is a 3.0-liter, TwinPower Turbo I-6 gas powertrain that delivers 335 horsepower.

Across our extensive inventory at BMW of Utica, you can appreciate the gorgeous design similarities and differences across the X3, X5, and X7. The three models have a kidney-shaped grille with vertical bars in a chrome finish. They also have multi-elemental LED headlights and a relatively upright stance throughout their profiles. Notably, the X3’s grille has a thin line of separation between the two pieces. The grille on the X5 and the X7 is one contiguous piece, and the X7’s grille is much taller. Across the lower-front fascia and lower side panels, the X3 has a thick layer of black and metallic trim. The X5’s lower trim has a similar color scheme. However, it is thinner, and the front fascia has a horizontal bar theme. The X7’s lower-front fascia shares the horizontal bar theme, and it adds more bars for distinction. As you step up through the models, the headlights become increasingly extended and thinner. Also, you will find a front skid plate and raised roof rails on the X7 for 2020.

These luxury crossover SUVs have numerous comparable features that you would expect to find in a modern BMW. These include leather seats, memory functionality for remote SUV access, Apple CarPlay, ConnectedDrive services, a quality audio system, Bluetooth technology, and others. If you step up to the 2020 X5, your SUV will add Comfort Access, Android Auto, and a few more features. The X7 includes additional standard features like a power liftgate, a four-zone auto climate management system, a third row of seats, a wireless hotspot, and more.
