2020 BMW X3 vs 2020 Audi Q5

Serving Utica, NY

The BMW X3 and the Audi Q5 have seemingly comparable features and capabilities at first glance. These compact luxury crossover SUVs both received major improvements in 2018 because of the release of their next-generation versions. While the X3 and the Q5 are even priced comparably, there are numerous areas where these models stand alone. Are you excited about uncovering the differences between the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5 for the 2020 model year?

The X3 has many brand-specific traits, such as the kidney-shaped grille and dual-bulb LED headlights. The grille has vertical bars, and it sits over an edgy accent piece that is underlined with a metallic bar. This same bar design runs through smaller accent ports placed underneath the headlights and holds the foglamps. The 2020 BMW X3 has a stand-up profile with a sloped roof. It also has metallic accents on the side door panels, integrated roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, and other features. The 2020 Audi Q5 also stands upright, and the unique cabin shape hints at a forward-leaning stance. Horizontal accent bars run through the large grille and the side vents that are mounted underneath the headlights. The headlights have a slight rectangular influence. The Q5 may also come with heated side mirrors, a panoramic moonroof, several wheel designs, and other equipment.

Inside the 2020 BMW X3, you will be surrounded by elite materials like Sensatec upholstery, dark wood trim, and metal accents. The 8.8-inch touch display screen is mounted on top of the center stack, and a virtual cockpit display sits behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel. Additional equipment in the X3 includes Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth streaming audio, remote access, a HiFi audio system, and other gear. The 2020 Audi Q5, on the other hand, has leather material and equipment that becomes progressively more advanced up the trim line. Entry-level equipment includes an MMI Radio system with a 7-inch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a climate control system, and pre-sense safety features.

The 2020 X3 and the 2020 Q5 have 2.0-liter turbo engines that generate 248 horsepower at the base trim levels. In the X3, the engine is accompanied by an eight-speed Steptronic auto transmission with two driving modes. The Q5 connects its engine to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The top-of-the-line gas engine for the BMW X3 produces 382 horsepower, which is compared to 362 horsepower in the top Audi Q5 engine.
